Summer Checklist for Rising Seniors
Set up check-in meeting with your PBCC Coach
Clean up social media accounts
Create college-specific/appropriate email address and check it daily
Send us your final report cards
Upload new test scores into CollegePlannerPro (CPP) Testing section
Open/read college emails for schools on your lists
Map out summer/fall college visits (virtual or, potentially, in-person)
Complete Naviance/other Brag Sheets (student and/or parent)
Request recommendation letters
Update CPP account info and add Naviance login to CPP Keychain
Complete all college research and finalize list with our help
Work with us to determine application strategy and note application deadlines.
Assess the number of essays you have. Use Prompt (Essays tab) in CPP to map out requirements for each school
Sign up for one of our Main and Supplemental Essay Workshop series
Contact your PBCC Coach to brainstorm supplemental essays and write ASAP
Complete Common App/Coalition App and other college applications
Schedule interviews for colleges that offer them (virtual/on-campus/local/alumni) (and mock interviews with us)
Meet with/email school counselor to confirm school policies for submitting applications/transcripts/etc.
Complete resumes/portfolios/audition pre-screens where required/desired
Register with NCAA if appropriate
Complete financial aid forms (FAFSA/CSS Profile)
Send SAT/ACT (but not AP) test scores where required (or if strong)
DON’T PROCRASTINATE!!
DO keep in regular contact with us throughout the summer and fall
DO try to complete as much as possible over the summer before school starts!
DO ASK US FOR HELP/CLARIFICATION!
